JAPAN-RUSSIA STUDENT CONFERENCE 2019
Japanese Studies Club MGIMO are pleased to invite you yet again to the Japan-Russia Student Conference, which is to take place 12-22 August 2019 on MGIMO university grounds.
The Japan-Russia Student Conference (JRSC) is a student-led exchange program that was first held in the late 1980s. Japan and Russia take turns in hosting the conference, and its main goal is to bring together Russian and Japanese students to discuss the global issues of today. We are happy to say that this year 12 of you will have a unique opportunity to become part of it.
Living or transportation costs for Russian participants are not covered. If you were chosen as a participant and don’t live in Moscow, please make sure to secure housing and budget your own transportation costs beforehand. MGIMO Japanese Studies club members will provide necessary assistance should you require it.
This year the following topics were chosen for discussion:
1. International affairs: Japan and Russia in the global context.
2. Environment: Center-periphery relations in Japan and Russia.
3. Media: The negative and positive effects of social media on Japanese and Russian society.
The next JRSC (held in 2020) will take place in Japan, and, as is tradition, the host country covers all expenses except for airfare. The organizing committee of JRSC-2019 is required to invite 4 participants who have distinguished themselves in JRSC-2019 to take part in JRCS-2020. Do not miss an opportunity to prove yoursefl!
